About us
SatProf was founded by satellite ground system engineering industry veterans to
meet the need for accessible training for satellite communications technical
professionals. For a list of papers and patents we have authored, please see
the Resources page.
Founders
Ralph Brooker, President
Prior to co-founding SatProf, Mr. Brooker held technical and management positions
at Andrew, Microsource, Amplica, and Comsat Laboratories.
His experience includes microwave integrated circuit and subsystem design,
hardware and software engineering management, new product introduction,
CAE/CAM software, production and process engineering management, VSAT
system engineering, link and network planning, large earth station international
project management, technical market research, new product definition and startup,
and simulation software for nonlinear amplifier distortion and antenna pointing error
network effects. Mr. Brooker chaired the Global VSAT Forum's Mutual Recognition
Arrangement Working Group which defined the process for industry-recognized
earth station type approvals. He has five issued patents and several publications,
and received an M.S.E.E. from the University of Illinois in 1981.
